Orienteering

2011 Year 7 & 8 Team

Orewa College joins the many schools taking part in the ASB College Sport Orienteering Series for secondary schools.

Students performed very well for their first year and enjoyed the combined challenge of map reading and running.

Orienteering involves running a set course which demands navigational skills, map reading, and a keen sense of direction.  Junior and Intermediate grades are straightforward, while the senior grades are demanding and very competitive.  The series concluded, with all particpants signed up for the relay events in Waiuku forest.
